Kurt learned to write limericks in writing class on St. Patrick's Day. Here's what he brought home.
There once was a dog next to a lump
It turns out the dog made a dump
It smelled quite bad
Its owner was very mad
And that thing came from the dog's rump.
There was a thick fog
A person tripped over a log
They fell in some poo
Or should I say doo doo
And it was all because of a dog.
There was a mitten
It was used for hittin'
Someone got badly hurt
Their name is Kurt
But the bandage is not fittin'.
I don't know
But I'm so slow
A snail could win a race with me
I'm even slower than a big old tree
My brother drags me around with a long yo-yo.

Another Lego Story

Kurt had a writing assignment in which he needed to write about his favorite place. Here it is:
My Legoy Room
My room is just one room in the billions of rooms in the world. Let me tell you about it or else!
In my room I have a table with lots of Legos. Some are red. Some are green. Some are blue. Some are black. I have 15 Lego people if you don't include my Lego skeletons.
In my room I have a Lego mining site. My Lego mining site is full of mining Lego people. They are digging for power crystals.. I love Legos.
My bed is very warm and cozy. I have 5 blankets and 4 pillows. My favorite stuffed animal is Peach. He is a snow man and he's about a foot tall. There's a blue hat on his head and a blue scarf around his neck. The scarf has white stars as white as snow. I have had Peach for 4 years. I got him when I was at my Poppapoppa's house. They gave Peach to me near Christmas. He was on the bed I slept in while I visited. Peach will be 5 soon. He has three or four buttons on his stomach.
I love my room even though it is messy.

Erich's Party
We had Erich's party for his 5th birthday yesterday (March 8th) at The Little Gym. The kids got to bounce on the AirTrak, climb the Tower of Power, run and splat onto a mat, and just run, jump and climb. Afterwards there was snacks, cake and juice. Here's some pictures of the fun.

Everyone laying down as the AirTrak blows up.

Erich completing a forward roll.

Erich and Jonathon (neighbor) playing.

Erich moving on to the next activity.

Kurt and Ethan (Kurt's best friend) running into the mats and going, "Splat!"

Erich on the balance beam.

The cake (Power Rangers, of course.)

Don't smile while you're eating cake. Erich with his friend Sam (from school) on left and William (Ethan's little brother) on the right.

It's hard work being the birthday boy.

Word for the Day
Erich is always coming up with interesting words for a 4 year old. Today we were walking along and he was giving me a lecture on the prehistoric age. At one point he turns to me and says, "I can't think of a word, what do you call a handsome wooly mammoth?" It's a mastodon, of course. I guess this isn't that surprising since he admonished Bob this weekend with "It's a rhetorical question, Daddy!"
